Supercar Challenge race 1 and 2 report After qualifying Friday, i found myself in 18th place with a couple of other cars all within a second, including the only other GT3 Viper.
The first race was great! I lost 3 or 4 position at the start but managed to ge them back and entered the mandatory pitstop in 16th position. After the stop i came out behind the car that had been following me before the stop so i knew he ha had done a better one. In the end, i finished in 13th place, an excellent result for our maiden race.
For the second race, i started in 13th position. At the start i lost two places again, but just as the previous day, i regained them within a couple of laps. Everything was going great with an excellent pitstop. I climbed up to 12th position but a sudden downpour spoiled the fun. I spun right after the chicane and, because i touched the kerb with the bottom of the car, i decided to come in for a checkup. This threw me back to 22nd position. After i got my rythm back i managed to catch a couple of cars and finished in 19th overall.
Too bad about the spin, without which we could have been in the top ten, but we are very happy with the result. We were able to maintain position between the other GT3s and we have a lot of potential left in the car! Looking forward to Spa already!
Second test with Profi Air Viper a big success The last test before the race on the 21/4 was a very succesful one! The car felt great and there were absolutely no issues whatsoever. Mil, Rudi and Bjorn did a great job in ironing out the small problems of last time and we ended the session without any problem.
I improved my best laptime of the previous test by 2,6 seconds which puts us about 2 seconds off what we should reach with this car so we were all very satisfied!
Next up is the big race weekend on the 21st of April with the Supercar Challenge in Zolder. The car is ready, the team is ready, let's hope the driver is as well! ;-)
Brass Racing enters the Supercar Challenge The decision was made yesterday to enter the Supercar Challenge. We will be racing in the 4 Belgian races for sure with an option for some races in Holland as well. Since the races are maximum 60 minutes, it's possible to enter with one pilot so Jerry will be the only driver.
Service and maintenance will be done by SRD, AVC and KCS.
Later in the year we will also be doing the 500 miles with 2 or 3 pilots.
Number 44 will be back this year! The Brass Racing Jaguar XJS V12 will be back to compete in the 2012 Belgian Historic Cup.
This time the big Jag will be piloted by BJORN KABERGS who's making his debut this year in the Brass Racing team.
More info on when and where will follow!
New head sponsor - new design This year Brass Racing will be racing the Viper in the colors of BEGETUBE and FRÄNKISCHE, both leading companies in products for central heating and underfloor heating, to support the introduction of the PROFI AIR VENTILATION SYSTEM.
The cooperation with BEGETUBE and FRÄNKISCHE ROHRWERKE goes back a long way and we are happy to represent them in the Belgian Endurance Championship!
